The key thing for us: such a kite floats on the water and relaunches from the water if it drops. It's tough, predictable and forgives crashes. Tube kites are what you ride on the sea — and exactly what we use for lessons. If you plan to kitesurf on water (and in Thailand you do), your kite is a tube. Full stop.
